The 50 piasters silver coin dated 1952 is the most beautiful Lebanese coin ever struck.
DIAMETER : 24 mm
WEIGHT : 4.87 GRAMS
All who lived in Lebanon  in those years and until the mid 70's may easily remember the fascination this coin had. It was also the ONLY silver coin in circulation and one could recognize it by just feeling it in the pocket.
In the 60's one of these coins could take you to the movies or buy you two pepsis, or a pepsi and a sandwich or a hamburger.
These are the last coins found in such a condition as most of them have been melted for silver during the late 70's  when the Lebanese Lira lost its value.All coins are in XF condition and better but uncleaned. This is the first auction for the few pieces I have left, an opportunity to own one of this memorable coin which today is XXR
