    Description

Kahn Easydew Portable Hygrometer, Part No. 75-7417, -148°F to +68°F dewpoint range
    Seller's Description:
Offered is a Kahn Easydew portable hygrometer, (S/N 133699) in excellent working and cosmetic condition.
The Easydew uses a Kahn ceramic sensing element for determining humidity from incoming gases, with a range from -148 to 68 degrees F dewpoint.  The sensor is virtually chemically inert and has fast response, high calibration stability, and high resistance to corrosive environments.
Fittings on the top of the unit are marked "1" and "2", and switch positions depending on whether the gas being monitored is pressurized or ambient pressure.  One of the fittings contains a filter unit, and both have 1/4" swagelok-style connectors.  The unit is powered by rechargeable batteries, but can also accept standard "C" cell alkalines; charge is indicated by a gauge on the panel.  The unit is contained in a rugged, water resistant NEMA 4 Pelican case.  An output socket and connector allows you to build a 4-20 mA output lead for feeding into secondary monitoring or control systems.
The unit comes with an AC power unit for battery recharging, 6 ft of PTFE 1/4" OD sample tubing, an extra filter unit, and the 4-20 mA plug for wiring to your external device.  I have a PDF of the operating manual, also provided.  I do not have a calibration certificate for this unit.  It's recommended you have the unit calibrated by Kahn or a suitable Metrology provider with NIST traceable humidity gases.
This unit appears in excellent condition.  I picked it up about three years ago at auction and it looks barely used.  It's sat in my shop cabinet since.
    Results from Function Test:
I tested the unit recently (see pictures).  First, I charged the unit and it took charge from the AC power supply, eventually showing charge in the green on the battery indicator.  Turning on the unit, it initially gave a dewpoint reading of about 37
    °F
(I live in SoCal).  I then attached a compressed air source and ran compressed air through the unit at about 5 psi supply pressure.  The dewpoint immediately began to drop.  Readings stabilized near 30
    °F +/- 2
    °F over 5 - 10 minutes.
